PRODUCERS

Anders Frederik Steen has been producing wine in France for seven years. In Copenhagen, Anders was one of the founders of Relæ and Manfreds, and over time he became responsible for their wine program and imports.

In 2013, he left the restaurant and wine import scene and started making wine with his favorite wine producer – Jean-Marc Brignot. They made two vintages in collaboration, but since 2015, Anders and his wife Anne Bruun Blauert have been running their own domain in Valvignères, Ardèche.

The grapes come partly from their own fields a little outside the village and partly from friends at Le Mazel, all grown using organic methods. The couple also make several wines in Alsace, in the cellar of Domaine Bannwarth. Anders and Anne let their creativity run wild and like to work with a combination of direct pressing and maceration, either destemmed or not. The different grape varieties are mixed even before fermentation, then the must is allowed to ferment spontaneously in fiberglass tanks and is further aged on the lees in old barrels. The wines are neither clarified nor filtered and are bottled completely without additives.

The couple never makes the same wine twice, and so far their approach has created a diversity of expressions!
