La Grange aux Belles is managed by Marc Houtin, Julien Bresteau, Gérald Peau in Soulaines-sur-Aubance, Anjou (Loire). Marc, the founder, used to work in a major oil company before enrolling for a DNO (enology degree) in 2001. Without any family backing, no earlier connection to the world of wine it was a tricky start for Marc. He turned the vineyard organic and focused on making his wines the best he could, not clearly claiming natural status. They use some biodynamic methods but are not claiming certification. The vision is to operate a sustainable agriculture with great respect for the environment and they do vinify truly authentic and living wines.
