Dario Princic has his vineyard located on the hills above the city of Gorizia, only one kilometre from the slovenian border. He cultivate ten hectares over clay and sandstone soil and everything is done by hand.
Since 1988,when he started, his vineyards has not in contact with chemicals with a no-interventionist approach to winemaking, with native yeasts, without filtration or fining it has a production of only 4000 bottles annually.
His grapes are macerated in wooden vats, pressed, transferred in barrels and decanted in stainless steel for about 6 months.
He smartly works with a lot of patience and precision to release his cuvées. His dedication to the nature are incredible deep, his cuvées can be hold in barrels for 2 to 10 years before bottle his wines and during bottling is added a small amount of sulfur. Nowadays he is one of the most important names in the natural wine world and he is also an important member of ‘Vini Veri’association.
Dario Princic wines are really incredible and these wines need time to breath after open; when you go to serve them, decanting is necessary. All of these wines age very well. We recommend buying more than one bottle and tasting them over several years.
