Josephine 2023
Gut Oggau - Stephanie & Eduard Tscheppe-Eselböck
Red - Burgenland
Natural | Biodynamic | No Sulfites | Unfiltered |
Josephine is second generation of the Gut Oggau family which consists of powerful and full bodied wines. She is Timotheus’ second wife and Winifred’s stepmother. An easy-going and somewhat voluptuous lady, she first found the love of her life at a slightly older age. Shaped by her tempestuous youth, she is an unconventional type that radiates vitality and enjoys life to the full. Feels at home in company, is open to strangers and rewards friends with deep insights into her innermost qualities.
Josephine is a medium bodied red made from Blaufrankish and Roesler grapes from 35 years old vines grown on gravel soil. Harvested by hand, spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts in barrels, 8 months maturation then bottled without fining, filtration or addition of sulfites.
Appearance: Lively acidity, full bodied, berries, light tannins and a long finish.
